After so many years, I think we’re finally getting the travel planning thing under control. It’s over four hours until we head to the airport and we’re all packed up, the house is clean, various maintenance tasks are done and my lengthy checklists have very few open items.
Right now I’m sipping a 1664 and trying to figure out what’s more exciting; the thought of a month of visiting exciting new places with fabulous food, great beer, wonderful wine or a month of being several thousand miles away from the AZ legislature, the Kato Institute, Glenn Beck, etc.
Actually, I do believe the world is trying to tell me to GTF out of town. I awoke this morn to find Ray, my prime laptop, suffering from a severe case of the BSODs, the Blue Screen of Death. No idea where the problem originated, but I’m pretty sure it’ll still be there in June. Plenty of time to hunt for rootkit virii then.
The new 50mm, f1.8 is mounted on the Canon. I’m thinking it’s going to be a fun lens. My two big goals this trip, other than eating and drinking everything in sight and doing all the fun stuff, are to do a more uniform job of taking pix and doing a better job of keeping up with the blog. TDF 2010 didn’t work out quite as well as I’d hoped.
Leaving home is always, for me, stressful for long trips….lots to check on and leave ready. Glad you got it down! Your blog is looking amazing!
